Fine-Ly Made™ has come from a long line of chain reactions, and a lot of prayer.

In 2009 I took a teaching job in Grand Rapids MI., and after the first year of teaching, I was just not myself.  My husband noticed and suggested I see a Nature Path, as he knew of one right across the hall from where he had his massage practice.  So I went. She found that not only could I no longer eat gluten, but dairy and eggs as well.  Finding out I was Celiac and couldn’t eat cheese or eggs was rather devastating, and on top of that, I am a vegetarian, so what would I eat now?

Well, after a few months of trying different recipes (I am always in  the kitchen cooking), I knew I must develop some of my own or I was going to starve to death.  So, I started trying different flour combinations, revamping old family recipes, and editing others that desperately needed to be edited.  What I found was, I really enjoyed baking gluten free and vegan.

My son was conceived after changing what I ate and going on all natural thyroid.  Since I was in my 40’s and thought I would never have a child of my own, he came as a big overdue surprise!  So after my second year of teaching, I had my son and we moved back to the Walla Walla valley.  I was going to be a stay-at-home mom.  After two years, I was a bit restless and really wanted to bake for others.  I was going to bake to sell to friends and at Farmers Markets, but I prayed that God would open and close doors, and the door opened for at a commercial kitchen in Walla Walla, allowing me to sell to grocery stores, restaurants, and coffee shops.  I was happy to serve the Walla Walla valley for 6 years.  After trying to seek my bakery for nearly a year, I decided to close it due to my health.  Not only was I diagnosed with Celiac disease, and a long list of food allergies, I also have Hashimoto’s disease, and undifferentiated connective tissue disease.  It’s the last one that has caused my body pain (mostly in the joints).  My body needs rest.  So now I am on a new journey.  One of cookbook writer, Facebook recipe poster, and homeschool mom to my most amazing son!  Please follow me on Facebook for updates.
